Anonymous asked: if you're so against piv how do you think women should have children? like strictly ivf? ivf is hardly affordable to the average person so where do you stand on women wanting to have children but being against piv?
I’ll try to answer your question, but I feel like it’s worded in a way that I want to break down what I feel PIV criticism is about:
- PIV is considered “real sex”, this is wrong
- Evolution has no agenda (I could go into the Origin of Species but I’ll spare you). The theory of evolution and the factual evidence that PIV in abundance, and as a norm, creates more problems than it solves, suggests that evolutionary we are not “meant to” have PIV as the standard sex act
- PIV being normative and viewed as “the same” as Sex in and off itself, means that PIV has completely different consequences and meanings in a patriarchal society than it would have in a non-patriarchal society
- The fact that the majority of women can’t orgasm, or even enjoy, PIV sex suggest that it’s not as “natural” as you might think
Your question is, to me at least, unanswerable in any other way because it’s not the same as being “against all forms of PIV and making babies”, that’s not… really what it’s about. So if anyone has any other suggestions for answers on this, please do share.
